Proper Introduction

Hey,

I think that last post wasn't really a proper introduction, so I will do one now. Basically, I will post once a month, within the first week of every month. This will either be updates to the story, engine, models, or a filler if I haven't done anything the whole month.

I still haven't thought of a name for my game; I am usually bad with thinking up titles. It will be a first person adventure RPG, and I will try to make it as realistic with the physics and movements as possible. I have yet to think of a story. Not even sure what era it will be set in. I'm open to suggestions on the story part, and of course any contributions will be put in the credits.

A couple of years back I began making a basic engine for this game in Game Maker 7: Pro Edition, but made very slow progress. About a year ago I almost finished the basic movement and first person view, but worked on it less and less until I finally just left it. Now I have decided to begin again from scratch, using C++. Only catch is, I barely know any of it. I can do basic functions, use variables, output text, make a working calculator etc, but nothing to do with games. So I am currently learning how to, although 3d is far ahead for me. If anyone knows any good tutorials (preferably videos) that could help with making games, please do tell, it would help a lot.

So anyway, this game wont be finished for a few years, and it might take a few months for me to even be able to start it. In the mean time I will work on the story, and give updates on how I am progressing in the game part. I will also put up games that I make on rapidshare, e.g. the ones that I make with the help of tutorials.

So yeah, I value feedback immensely, and any help whatsoever would be a godsend to me.

'till the next update,
